Drs. For example, robotic prostate surgery, a procedure that is performed by highly skilled surgeons, like Dr. Samadi, will be reviewed by an independent Medicare Advisory Board that will consider if the procedure is necessary or unnecessary based on the review of general treatment outcome data and overall costs. It’s unclear if the Board will consider the performance of individual surgeons and health care providers in its decision to pay for robotic prostate cancer surgeries in the future.
