I have stage 1 cancer, Gleason scale is 6, PSA is 7. I have heard radiation seeds are quite effective with relatively few side effects for a cancer at this stage. any experience with it?

My aunt’s husband has had stage 4 prostate cancer & he has been seeing a doctor who has been giving them false hopes…one day she says they’re going to beat and the next they say there is nothing they can do. Recently she told my uncle he was cured..took him off all medication and treatment and said that since his spleen was removed he was free of cancer cells…she did the exact same thing to one of their friends…and he went home and died three days later…what would you do..should they all get together and sue the doctor?

i talked to my urologist.he suggested me about radical prostatecomy.but added that this requires cathererization.can someone explain me what is it?

something treatment of little radioactive seeds being implanted- does anyone know what the side effects could be, or any other information that could help me understand this?

treatment, he also has a lot of back and thigh pain along with trouble urinating, he is sick and very tired all the time, anyone have a idea of how much longer he has on this earth.

My dad just told me he has 2nd stage prostate cancer and is 82 yrs old in good shape, race walks every day. He adv he will start radiation treatment tomorrow for 5 days a wk for 9 wks and will rcv hormone shots.

Does anyone else out there know anyone his age who has gone through this or a good/informative website I can go to?

My psa two months ago showed 4.4 Last week, a different lab said it was 6.4 resulting in a biopsy. 3 of the 12 samples showed cancer. This is stage One. Any recommendations on best treatment? I am 74 yrs. old and in great health otherwise.
Gleason score is six. Twelve biopsies were taken. Three were positive.

i am 35 years of age and i am very weary about my occasional pain in my testicles. is it detectable even if its on its 1st stage?

They do not know if it has spread yet to other organs. that makes all the difference in the world to his treatment and to his prognosis. If they had taken 16 samples in the biopsy and 5 came out positive wouldnt that be a sign that it has not spread?
